 MoviesByWomen.com is proud to announce the upcoming launch of the MoviesByWomen Podcast Channel, dedicated to showcasing movies directed by women. Our podcast channel launch will feature 4 stellar video podcasts, and it all starts February 14th on iTunes, YouTube, and on our website, MoviesByWomen.com.

We will feature special interviews with director Allison Anders, actress Ashley Judd, and director Joey Lauren Adams with 'COME EARLY MORNING', director Alexandra Lipsitz with 'AIR GUITAR NATION', film historian Cari Beauchamp, director Maria Maggenti with "PUCCINI FOR BEGINNERS", and Spirit Award nominee for best feature, Karen Moncrieff with "THE DEAD GIRL". Each podcast is 3-5 minutes and features interviews with Directors and an insider's perspective into Hollywood. Our host will show you a sneak peak of the next hot films directed by women in theaters, on DVD, and some bang-up behind-the-scenes action.

Welcome to the website about movies directed by women. This site includes information on historical women directors, statistics on women directors, and also includes Director interviews. We are a grassroots collective that has grown out of the passions of women directors who are working towards increasing the awareness of women's contributions to film and television history. Our website is done on a volunteer basis. Any support you can offer us goes to making this a bigger and better site.

You may not know it, but only 5% of Hollywood features are directed by women!! That is shocking & embarrasing for a country that claims to have equality for women in the workplace. In order to change the perception of women around this globe we must have more women making films. Film directors are culture creators for the globe. Don't let apathy get you! Don't get convinced that women should only make small arthouse & women topic movies. That's such a pre-1970's notion. We can make top grossing films! This is an important issue to tackle for true equality.
